The Terry Benjey Bicycling Foundation and the Cape Fear Cyclists are sponsoring Daniel’s Ride, a memorial ride
to honor Daniel Fetner and other cyclists killed on NC roadways. The ride will be held on
Saturday, October 21 st , 2017 at 2pm at Carolina Beach State Park in Carolina Beach, NC. There will be 5
and 10-mile route options. Both route options will remain within the boundaries of the state park. This
is a non-competitive, casual bicycle ride.

Place: Carolina Beach State Park- meet up and on-site registration at the marina
For whom: This is a casual ride; families welcome; riders should be able to complete a 5 or 10-mile
route; children must be accompanied by an adult
Check in: 1pm at the marina; ride begins at 2pm
Pre-registration: Online at
www.CapeFearCyclists.org until midnight Oct.18th. Pre-registration cost: $12 for adults,
$10.00 for 13 years and younger.
Daniel’s Ride tees provided with pre-registration if
registered by Oct. 7 at 11:59pm (sizes Youth XS-Youth XL, Adult Small-XXL available). Shirts
must be collected on the day of the event. The registration cost was kept to a minimum to
facilitate ride participation.
Donations: We will gladly be accepting donations(cash or check only) prior to the ride for: Mothers
Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and BikeWalk NC (
http://www.bikewalknc.org/).
On-site registration: There is a limit of 125 riders. If that number has not been reached in pre-
registration, it will be possible to register between 1-2pm at the marina at Carolina Beach State Park;
$15 for adults, $12 for 13 years and younger (cash or check only);
t-shirts are NOT guaranteed for those
who register after Oct. 7 or onsite the day of the ride.
Requirements:
Helmets are MANDATORY. All riders must sign a waiver. Riders under 14 must be
accompanied on ride by parent. All riders must ensure their bike is in good mechanical condition. All riders must obey the
rules of the road and adhere to the safety instructions provided by Cape Fear Cyclists.
